About NWSC:
National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) a leading organisation in the Water sector in Uganda with a Vision “To be a leading Water Utility in the World.” NWSC is a utility parastatal 100% owned by The Government of Uganda. It was established in 1972 under decree No: 34. The mandate of the Corporation as defined in the National Water & Sewerage Corporation Statute of 1995, Section 5 (1), is to operate and provide water and sewerage services in areas entrusted to it, on a sound, commercial and viable basis. The NWSC operations were initially in three towns of Kampala, Jinja, and Entebbe.

Job Summary:
The job holders will be responsible for administering, organizing and supervising all activities of the Static Plant mechanical section to ensure maximum availability of the Corporation static plants in a good state of maintenance and at economic costs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    Develop appropriate maintenance strategy for all electro- mechanical equipment.
    Supervise the implementation of a planned maintenance scheme for all static plants.
    Ensure proper documentation of all works/tasks undertaken.
    Respond quickly to all electro-mechanical breakdowns in the plants.
    Actively participate in multi-disciplinary team activities.
    Carry out Bi-annual condition Assessment of Electro-mechanical equipment and professionally and advise on the need interventions.
    Provide leadership and Technical backup to the maintenance section on all assigned tasks.
    Prepare sectional monthly and situation specific reports
    Develop appropriate maintenance strategy for all electro-mechanical equipment.
    Ensure safety of staff and equipments in their sections.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
    The applicant should hold a Bsc. Mechanical Engineering.
    The candidate must have at least 2 years hands on experience in plant maintenance in either water industry or similar setting.
    The candidate must also be computer literate.
    Should possess high levels of initiative, commitment to work, ability to meet tight deadlines.
    Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and identify solutions to problems.
    Should be good team player highly motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
    Possess the ability to train and mentor others.

Age: below 35 years
