Centenary Bank is the leading Commercial Micro Finance Bank in Uganda serving over 1,300,000 clients (a quarter of the banking population) in 58 branches spread countrywide.

Job Summary:
The Talent Development Officer will support the development of e-learning solutions for the Bank, manage and implement the delivery of virtual classroom, e-learning courses and programs to all bank staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    Identify, analyze and compile training and development needs of Bank employees using the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) in line with the business plan.
    Conduct activities to facilitate the development of identified talent pools to support succession planning in consonance with the business plan.
    Source, and design training programmes and modules for the e-learning system in partnership with line management, subject matter experts, and service providers in line with the Human Capital Development strategy and Bank policy.
    Plan, monitor and implement e-learning solutions for Bank staff including generic, adaptive and customized courses in line with the Human Capital Development strategy.
    Support the development of Information Technology Library (ITL) learning solutions, webcasts for staff learning and development in line with the Human Capital Development strategy and IT policy.
    Manage and implement the logistic delivery of virtual class room, e-learning courses and programmes to staff across the Bank network in line with Human Capital Development strategy and IT policy.
    Evaluate e-learning and development programmes and maintain training records in line with training and development policy and procedures.
    Periodically monitor, evaluate and follow up on the integrity of HRMIS and e-learning system information and submit periodic reports on status of the systems.
    Promote increased utilization and enrolment to e-learning programmes.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  •     The applicant should possess an honours degree in Human Resource Management or Social Sciences.
  •     IT Certification a requirement
  •     Experience of training or developing others in a large organization or Banking environment. Haves thorough and contemporary understanding of e-learning.
  •     Have a thorough grasp of instructional design practice relating to technology-based learning.
  •     Experience of working on own initiative, with a proactive approach in an e-learning environment.
  •     Experience in evaluation of e-learning programmes and report writing skills.
  •     Computing and technology application skills.
  •     Substantial experience in a Virtual Learning Environment.
  •     Strong organizational and time management skills.
  •     Exceptional interpersonal skills including ability to persuade colleagues to use new technology.
  •     Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels (managers, consultants, administrative colleagues and technical colleagues).
  •     Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  •     Adaptable and flexible in tasks undertaken, with the ability to learn new skills quickly. Ability to work effectively in teams.
  •     Good leadership and persuasion skills.
