About UBTEB:
Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) is one of the national Examinations Boards in Uganda. This is a professional Examinations Board with the mandate to streamline, regulate, coordinate and conduct credible examinations and award Certificates and Diplomas in the Business, Technical and Vocational professions. The Board therefore conducts Business, Technical and Vocational examinations, including Applied Science specialties such as Biological Sciences (Agricultural, Fisheries, Wildlife, Forestry, Bee Keeping and other related fields), Physical Sciences (Meteorology, Surveys and Land Management, and other related fields), Cooperatives, Social Development, Hotel, Catering and Tourism. UBTEB is committed to conduct quality applied knowledge and skills examinations with an ultimate goal of enabling the students to access further upward academic progressions and employment in the world of work.

Job Summary:
The Senior Research and Policy Development Officer will manage research in all areas to enhance the functioning of the Board.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    Develop and maintain data bases
    Develop Monitoring and Evaluation systems
    Establish a research agenda of the Board
    Establish innovative and knowledge management centre
    Review examination results statistics with a view to improving examination techniques and produce periodic reports
    Document Lessons, experiences and good practices learnt
    Develop data and information dissemination system
    Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
    The applicant should hold a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Statistics, Economics related disciplines, Planning and Management or Industrial Psychology with an Honours degree in any humanities or Education.
    Additional qualification in Data Analysis or research methods is an added advantage.
    At least five years relevant work experience.
