9. IT SUPPORT DIVISION: Head of IT General Support (1) Ref: RDB/ITD/039

Specific tasks and responsibilities
- Management and administration of the day to day’s activities of the Unit
-  Provide leadership to the unit in this capacity, s/he is directly responsible for supervision of other officers in the unit
- Facilitate preparation of required ICT policy, standard and guidelines
- Identify ICT literacy levels in various jobs in the public and private sectors
- Facilitate in the recruitment and training of ICT staff for ministries and public institutions
- Facilitate employees in the public sectors to be trained in all government policies and procedures required in implementation of their job responsibilities
- Arrange for widespread workshops and meetings, through which to bring awareness to ICT professionals in public institutions on various identified issues
- Facilitate the implementation of ICT Internship and Mentorship programs for fresh graduates
- Liaison with Ministry of Education, Higher Institution of Learning and other key Agencies to collaborate and curriculum development takes into consideration ICT industry trends
- Advice on General ICT support requests
- Coordinate and overseer centralized procurement for the Central and Local Government
- Perform other duties as maybe directed by the Division Manager

Job requirements, qualifications and experience
- A Master’s degree in computer science/information systems or its equivalent
- A minimum of 4 years post qualification experience for 1st degree holders, or three years post qualification  experience for master’s degree holders 
- Ability to demonstrate a back ground of personal and strategic leadership
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- A person of integrity, highly, motivated, innovative, a committed team player, and a strong willed achiever
