The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, is inviting applications from suitably qualified Rwandan nationals to fill in the following vacancies in their Rwanda Country Office at Kigali. Fluency in English and local language of the duty station required. The last date to submit application is 25.09.2013.

Nutrition Officer

Under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist (L-4), the incumbent will be responsible for professional technical contribution to programme design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of Nutrition programme activities, data analysis and progress reporting, and commitment for enhancement of teamwork and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with country programme goals and strategy, with emphasis on addressing gender and geographic inequalities. Support a downstream process in modelling, background information and data generation. Support the provision of Nutrition, related to Child Survival and Development, statistical data from information systems to enhance programme decisions and monitoring for effective programmatic thrust.

Qualification:
University degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition & Home Economics, Food Science & Nutrition, Food & Nutrition Policy and Management, Family and Community Health & Nutrition, Nutritional Epidemiology, Health & Nutrition Education, Health & Nutrition Promotion and Disease Prevention, Community Development, Nutrition Emergency Preparedness, or other relevant discipline(s). Training in gender and in nutrition programmes that promote gender equality is an asset.

Experience:
Minimum one year of relevant professional field work experience in Nutrition programme. Experience in monitoring gender inequalities and in programming interventions that reduce disparities an asset. Background/ familiarity with Emergency an asset.
