Job Description:
Finance in Motion is an
alternative asset management firm exclusively focused on sustainable
development finance. On behalf of public and private investors as well
as international financial institutions, we develop and advise
alternative investment vehicles. The company covers a broad spectrum of
development finance, including energy efficiency, renewable energy,
microfinance, and the facilitation of employment generation through the
financing of small and medium enterprises. We manage Funds of EUR 1
billion in 26 countries in Southeast Europe, Eastern Europe and the MENA
region handling relationships with roughly 100 clients in the financial
and corporate sector, including debt, equity and technical assistance
projects. Our international team of 110 employees is located in
Frankfurt and several regional offices in South East and Eastern Europe
and the MENA region.
Finance in Motion develops its core business
tools in-house and is currently looking for a senior software developer
and business analyst to shape and strengthen the software development
department. The candidate will be based in Nairobi where Finance in
Motion is in the process of opening its Software Development Centre and
will assume the following responsibilities:
•Liaise with the IT
manager and with the operational departments to analyse requirements and
produce technical specifications for the software development projects.
•Lead the software design and development efforts for the company.
•Provide top quality code across all layers of a large multi-tier software product.
•Recommend on the most appropriate technologies to be employed for secure and scalable solutions.
•Provide strategic guidance for the software solutions to keep abreast with industry latest innovations.
•Acquire progressive ownership of the full software solution.
•Train and mentor the team of software developers.
•Provide high quality technical documentation on the projects developed.
Qualifications:
•.NET development. Preferred language VB.NET.
•N-tier architecture proficiency, Web Services, XML and SOAP.
•Capacity to develop smooth and highly interactive UIs with AJAX and JavaScript.
•Good experience in database design and development. Preferred platform: MySQL.
•Experience of Agile software development methodologies and collaboration tools like SVN and Cruise Control.
•Creative, self motivating attitude.
•Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.
