Job Summary:
The Protection Manager has a major responsibility of working harmoniously with the implementing partners to ensure the settlement and that the principles of effective and high quality GBV programming are adhered to by providing technical support and supervision consistent with international and national standards and ensure that program design and implementation creates no harm in the communities, promotes human rights and has positive impact. He/She will provide leadership to the sector and oversee all GBV related activities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  •     Encourage excellence in GBV programs ensuring quality of activities and targeted impact, and compliance with international and national standards
  •     Develop and support collection, analysis and use of data to improve GBV program implementation and promote effective monitoring and evaluation systems.
  •     Ensure issues and challenges are addressed in a timely and participatory manner, keeping stakeholders Informed.
  •     Support capacity building activities design, implement and monitor high quality programming through mentoring, training and evaluations.
  •     Also represent ARC in appropriate fora and Coordinate activities in his/her mandate.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  •     The applicant must possess a Masters degree in Public Health required.
  •     He/she should also hold a Bachelors degree in Social Work
  •     A minimum of five years’ program management experience in GBV or similar with internally displaced populations, refugees, or other post conflict settings.
  •     Detailed awareness and knowledge of reproductive health and gender issues as well as GBV.
  •     Comprehensive understanding of the principles of counseling and ability to adapt psychosocial knowledge and skills to cultural context
