Background Information:
Gatsby Microfinance is a subsidiary company to Uganda Gatsby Trust. A trust supported by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation (UK). Gatsby is a fast growing company with branches in Kampala, Mukono, Jinja, Mbale, Soroti, Fortportal and Masaka. Its Head offices are located in Katwe. In order to meet its needs in strategic planning, the company is seeking to recruit dynamic, self motivated, result oriented personnel to the following positions.
The major role of a Credit Officer is to contribute to identify new clients; appraise and assess loan applications; prepare assessments and recommendations for the loans committee; and educate clients as to their responsibilities for repayment of loans.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• To contribute to the profitability of the branch by effectively achieving set sales targets through actively and proactively identifying sales opportunities;
• To keep the portfolio at risk at the acceptable minimum through actively following up on all clients for timely repayments;
• To proactively and continuously deliver service excellence.
Desired qualifications;
• A Bachelor degree or diploma in commerce, education or a business related field.
• Able to work in any of the network offices.
• Ability to effectively sell the institution’s financial products.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Should be computer literate
