About WFP:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations frontline agency against world hunger. It is the largest and longest serving humanitarian agency in Uganda. Currently WFP focuses on three priority areas namely, Emergency Humanitarian Action (EHA); Food & Nutrition Security (FNS); and Purchase for Progress (P4P)/ Agriculture & Market Support (AMS). WFP has operations in various parts of the Country.

Job Summary: The Finance assistant will be responsible for the management of financial matters of the sub office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    Oversee all Sub office finances and accounts;
    Prepare monthly Sub office account reconciliation reports for submission to head office in a timely manner,
    Keep copies of Sub office account documents on files in a professional manner and avail them when need be.
    Prepare all petty cash payments with proper documents and maintain all payment within the approved limit
    Account for advances received within the same month;
    Check and verify accuracy of accounts submitted by implementing partners that are supported by the Sub Office;
    Review all partners' accountability reports and submit them to head Office in a timely manner.
    Maintain filed records for future references;
    Maintain a file of bank confirmation letters and related correspondences;
    Act as bank agent for the sub office:
    Perform any other official duty as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
    The candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting  obtained from a recognized institution;
    At least three (3) years of professional expenence in Finance gained horn a reputable organization.
    Membership to a professional accounting body;
    General working knowledge and understanding of finance systems, policies, rules, regulations and procedures; 
    Good knowledge and skills in using MS Office applications;
    Excellent command of both spoken and written English is a must.
