Minimum Qualifications and Working Experience:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering or Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering or equivalent qualifications plus a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the above fields from a recognized University/Institution. Applicants should have at least nine (09) years relevant working experience in agriculture and farming systems, three (3) of which should have been gained at the level of Principal Officer in irrigation and drainage or water for livestock or Aquaculture in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable Organization. He/she should be a registered Engineer with relevant professional bodies. He/she should have a comprehensive knowledge of farm planning concepts with particular reference to irrigation and drainage.
Applicants should have the following key competencies: – leadership, managerial and planning skills with well developed public relations skills. He/she should be a team player capable of working with the senior management team and with the ability to monitor, coach, develop and motivate subordinates; should have high personal integrity, good oral and writing skills.
