Job Summary:
The Senior PM will offer overall leadership, support and management of WV Uganda Area Development Programmes and grants within a designated cluster in a manner that meets set standards as well as empower the wellbeing of children, households and communities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
    Lead and support ADP teams and partners to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate project implementation plans and activities.
    Provide guidance on integration of advocacy and disaster/ risk management in field level development programmes and programme/ project designs and implementation strategies.
    Disseminate and support the implementation of Partnership and NO strategies, guidelines, initiatives and policies in the district.
    Steer the implementation of management decisions/recommendations in the district and programmes/ projects in order to meet quality standards, and promote alignment with strategies and standards.
    Develop a staff development plan, and manage staff development/ growth in order to build a cadre of high performing team.

2. Networking and Advocacy:
    Build strategic partnerships, networks, coalitions and alliances at the district level and link it with national level strategic engagements.
    Spearhead, coordinate and promote district level advocacy, lobbying and influencing initiatives.
    Document lessons learnt from the district programmes and projects and link with national level advocacy initiatives

3. Resource Mobilization:
    Actively participate in proposal writing and engagement with donors to ensure smooth program management.
    Identify, market opportunities and monitor donor trends and for growing grant funding from governments and multilateral donorsin collaboration with the Regional Resources Acquisition and Management Team Leader and the support offices.

4. Accountability and Quality Assurance:
    In close collaboration with sector specialists, ensure quality programming while following partnership standards, policies and protocols, including all relevant sections of the Field Financial Manual.
    In close collaboration with People and Culture, ensure right programme staff are recruited, retained, and provided with intentional development and growth opportunities, mentoring and coaching.

5. Child Protection and Wellbeing:
    Monitor the wellbeing and child abuse cases and report any incidents in line with child protection policy and guidelines.
    Sensitize children including RCs, guardians/parents and other stakeholders about children’s rights and responsibilities.

6. Information Management:
    Track, compile and analyse programmatic data for innovative use in organisational learning and development.
    Compile quality monthly, quarterly and annual Programmatic Reports in a timely manner.
    Support Communications in preparation of branding, marketing and informational material for WV and external donors, and other stakeholders.


 Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  •     The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in any development related field (Social Sciences, Development Studies, Management, Education, Agriculture or Public Health). A masters degree is an added advantage.
  •     Proven written communication & analytical skills, including research and the writing of proposals and reports.
  •     Five or more years experience in managing complex grants and programs with significant experience in overseeing large multi-year government grants.
  •     Good understanding of project cycle management.
  •     An excellent people manager with good team-building skills, as well as strong interpersonal and networking skills cross organizationally and with different cultures
  •     Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all staff and other key partners.
  •     Ability to lead, guide, coordinate, and facilitate strategic planning processes and establish short and long-term goals within program areas.
