Our client, the Trustees of Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) established under the National Parks Act, Cap. 282 of the 2002, Revised Edition of the Laws of Tanzania is responsible for managing and regulating the use of areas designated as National Parks so as to preserve the country’s heritage, encompassing natural and cultural resources. Currently, TANAPA manages fifteen (15) national Parks which are scattered all over the country.
TANAPA is seeking to recruit dynamic, strategic, experienced and qualified Tanzanians with strong credentials to fill the positions of Marketing Manager; Infrastructural Development Manager; Investments Manager; Information and Communication Technology Manager; Veterinary Services Manager; and Commercial Services Manager.

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (IDM) Job Ref: TNP/IDM/09/13

Position Summary:
To encourage proper usage of the parks infrastructure, supervise new constructions projects, and handle all maintenance and repair activities of the infrastructure.

Reporting to Director of Planning and Development Projects,

key duties and responsibilities will include:
• Supervising and overseeing the functions and performance of Works Department;
• Setting out standards and design specifications for infrastructure works in the parks;
• Formulating and reviewing procedures to ensure that the park’s infrastructure are systematically maintained to the required standards;
• Advising the Management on all engineering undertakings;
• Overseeing the implementation of construction projects in the park;
• Participating and ensuring that bidding documents related to engineering activities are constantly updated and reviewed;
• Preparing technical reports for all infrastructural development projects undertaken by TANAPA;
• Liaising with external stakeholders in all engineering matters to ensure conformity to the national standards/policies;
• Preparing proposals for write-off of assets for the Management and the Board of Trustees;
• Participating in the planning and preparation of Good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) and Environmental Impact assessment (EIA’s) Action Plans for engineering department;
• Conducting on-job training for engineering staff in the organisation; and
• Conducting performance appraisal ofthe staff directly reporting to the respective department.

Key Qualifications and Experience:
• Masters of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical or Construction Engineering from a recognized Institution;
• Must be registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Registration Board (ERB);
• At least eight years of working experience in the relevant field, three of which should be in a Senior position;
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications
