Job Title: Project Officer

Context and Environment:
British Council Uganda has its office in Kampala. We deliver a full range of programmes that includes examination administration, school linking projects, higher education partnerships between Uganda and the UK and we also manage grant programmes funded by organisations such as EU and DFID. The Project Officer is a member of the programmes team, and reports to a Project Manager and may be responsible for more than one project.
Job Summary: The Project Officer will plan, manage and evaluate events and deliver project outputs as per contract with partners: Deliver high quality project activity and events, working with partners and stakeholders in order to meet global, regional and country plans.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Partnerships:
Deliver projects in accordance to business need, ensuring compliance with all client and corporate standards.
Deliver projects to agreement and proactively manage partners through positive communication to ensure that projects maintain positive, mutually beneficial relations.
2. Monitoring & Evaluation, Database Management:
Plan and implement questionnaire surveys, collate, analyse and report results
Maintain an accurate database of contacts engaged through projects
Prepare case studies that will be used as evaluation of long term outcomes
Ensure that project targets set out in all project plans are met
3. Marketing and Communications:
Deliver the agreed marketing and communications project outputs
Work with agencies to ensure that promotional and branded materials meet branding standards
Manage content of publications of various projects
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should possess a Degree in a related discipline
Project management qualification is also desirable
Prior proven experience with governance related projects
Experience in proposal development
Project management skills:
Market analysis and business intelligence
Managing relationships with clients, customers and stakeholders
Product and service development
Monitoring, evaluation and reporting
Financial planning and management skills:
Planning and forecasting
Managing risk
Business and system processes
Communications skills:
Understanding purpose
Understanding the audience (potential markets and customers)
Understanding tools and media
