About MRC/UVRI:
The Medical Research Council / Uganda Virus Research Institute (MRC/UVRI) Uganda Research Unit on AIDS based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute, Entebbe has obtained funding from the Medical Research Council UK / Department for International Development (DFID) under the African Leadership Award mechanism to undertake a study on the mental health problems of children and adolescents living with HIV/AIDS.
Job Summary:
The Psychiatrist Researcher or Clinical Psychologist Researcher will coordinate this study within the Mental Health Research Project at the MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit on AIDS.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be a key member of the leadership of the study team, involved in planning and coordination of work at the four study sites in Kampala/Entebbe and Masaka at HIV care facilities.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
The applicant must possess at least three years’ experience in mental health research and preferably in the area of childhood and adolescent mental health.
The post will suit an individual who has a master’s qualification in psychiatry or clinical psychology as well as proven leadership and management skills.
