About Mildmay:
Mildmay Uganda is an HIV/AIDS treatment and training centre also providing Health Systems Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services in 16 districts of Central Uganda. It is situated on Entebbe Road, Lweza, south of Kampala, Uganda.
Job Summary: The Grants Monitoring Officer will develop M&E plans and systems for new Mildmay grants and business initiatives and ensure effective project monitoring and reporting
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop M&E plans and systems for new project and business initiatives in liaison with grants and business development staff or task forces.
Research the M&E requirements of grants and business opportunities identified by Mildmay
Sensitize / educate grants and business development staff on M&E needs of newly identified grants and business opportunities
Develop the M&E sections of grants, proposals and projects being developed by the grants or business development teams or task forces
Ensure that project designs and M&E plans comply with the conditions/provisions of funding opportunity announcements, cooperative agreements and grants
Track progress of grants, proposals, or plans being developed
Track progress of grants, proposals or plans submitted to donors, grantors or funders
Track changes in the M&E policies and priorities of Mildmay Uganda’s major grantors, donors or funders or those targeted in future
2. Progress Reporting:
Ensure progress reporting satisfies the needs of stakeholders.
Develop a comprehensive stakeholder schedule for addressing reporting and related priorities of donors, grantors, funders and other stakeholders
Support the M&E Manager in Coordinating production of donor reports and ensuring adherence to reporting schedules and timelines
Assess the quality of progress report and address identified weaknesses in liaison with M&E
Manager
Support the M&E Manager during Consolidating and finalizing progress reports for submission to donors and other stakeholders in accordance with approved formats, standards and timeframes
Liaise with M&E Department to ensure Documentation of project monitoring activities, production of monitoring reports and analysis of monitoring reports to identify key issues requiring attention of Management
Liaise with M&E Department to Conduct qualitative monitoring of project activities in collaboration with the M&E Department and other stakeholders
Support M&E Manager to Track responsiveness and attention to donor feedback on progress reports
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The candidate should possess A Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Economics or Statistics.
A Masters Degree in Population studies, Development Studies, Social work or Public Health
Post-graduate training in Monitoring and Evaluation
At least five years work experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, 2 of which are in writing high quality Programme level reports
At least 3 years experience at middle management level
Experience in dealing with donor reporting
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in various MS office packages and working knowledge of English and local language(s) are crucial.
Hard working, trust-worthy, and holding the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality.
Must be flexible, reliable, able to work under pressure; and in sympathy with the Christian values of Mildmay Uganda.
Evidence of a non-judgemental approach regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality and lifestyle is critical.
