Job Summary:
The System Operations Manager will be managing the operation of Umeme’s electricity MV network in a safe and reliable way
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manual and Automatic switching operations to approved standards and regulations
Ensuring maintenance of voltage, frequency and power factor standards
Responding promptly to all alerts and alarms
Managing system interaction with UETCL in accordance with protocols and agreements
Managing Planned, Unplanned and Emergency outages in accordance with company outage protocols
Delivering up to the minute forecasts for short/ medium and long term supply/demand
Ensuring that entire team of Engineers and Technicians are operating in a safe and reliable way and that they are equipped to do so
Ensuring that control infrastructure is operating at maximum availability and reliability
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The candidate should hold a degree in Electrical Engineering with 7 (Seven) years significant experience with Electricity Networks and systems operation
Excellent analytical skills with sound judgment when making decisions
Possess capacity to operate sensibly and calmly in a crisis.
