Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the management and delivery of highways schemes ( mainly large Road
- schemes) including budgeting and resourcing
Provide Professional and Technical Excellence in highway engineering
Provide technical assistance and training to less experienced staff
Prepare designs, reports, specifications and other deliverables for highways schemes.
Allocate tasks to other members of the Highways Team and monitor progress.
Monitor the designs and deliverables produced to ensure they meet the design briefs set by clients
Ensure designs and deliverables are appropriate and meet the expected levels of technical excellence
Seek innovation in the delivery of schemes and techniques used to design and construct them.
Ensure the internal company quality system is actively applied to all highways schemes.
Guide the team as necessary
Communications & Teamwork:
Ensure that there is effective flow of information within the team,
Coordinate the activities between the Project Team and the Client
Make suggestions to Project Manager about ways to improve team effectiveness
Respects team members for their differing contribution to the project team
Support team members enthusiastically
Delegate work when appropriate
Project Management:
Plan and schedule own work to ensure completion fits with overall project programme,
Inform Project Manager of any implications that may affect the programme,
Ensure that work produced for clients meets contractual obligations and specifications, highlighting any potential variations to Project Manager
Work with PM to put together progress reports and any other reports,
To ensure that all reports are issued to the Clients on time and of quality,
Review all the reports submitted by contractors,
Actively seek out information not readily available,
Applies relevant regulations and codes of practice to the work process
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant should possess a Bsc Civil Engineering and relevant Master’s degree
